<image:title>Blog - Breaking the Cycle of Toxic Realtionships: Understanding and Overcoming the Emotional Addiction - Recent research has unveiled striking parallels between romantic attachment and substance addiction, particularly in tumultuous relationships. The same areas of the brain activated by addiction to substances like cocaine are also involved in romantic love. This neurological overlap becomes particularly significant in relationships marred by adversity or abuse. The biochemical underpinnings of such relationships involve a complex interplay of neurotransmitters like oxytocin, serotonin, dopamine, cortisol, and adrenaline. These chemicals play pivotal roles in emotional bonding, stress response, and reward processing. In adverse relationships, the abusive dynamics paradoxically can strengthen the emotional bond in the brain, rather than weaken it. This is due to the specific way these neurotransmitters interact in response to the relationship's stress and unpredictability.</image:title>

<image:title>Blog - From Heartache to Healing: Finding Yourself After the Relationship Ends</image:title>
<image:caption>The early stages of divorce or separation can feel surreal. There's a profound sense of disruption - as if the very foundation of your life has shifted. Shock, disbelief, and denial are common reactions. It's as though the mind needs time to process the enormity of this life change. Grief is a significant part of the journey. It's not just the loss of a partner, but the death of shared dreams and plans. The future you envisioned is no longer on the horizon, leading to feelings of deep sadness and loss. This grief is a natural response and is essential for healing. Anger often follows grief. It can be directed at your ex-partner, the circumstances, or even yourself. While it can be consuming, anger is also a sign of the mind trying to find footing in a new reality. It's a search for blame, for understanding why things didn't work out. Many find themselves in the bargaining stage, where you might ruminate over what could have been done differently. "What if I had been more understanding?" or "What if we had sought help sooner?" These thoughts are a part of the mind's attempt to regain control and find answers. As the reality sets in, a period of depression may follow. This isn't just feeling sad; it's a deeper sense of despair and hopelessness. Activities you once enjoyed might lose their appeal. This phase is often the mind and body's way of processing and coming to terms with the loss. Eventually, there comes a point of acceptance. This doesn't mean you're happy about the situation, but you've come to accept it as your reality. Acceptance is where the healing truly begins. It's where you start to find a new sense of self and begin to look forward to the future. Then, you start to rebuild and recreate a life for yourself outside of your past relationship. You start aligning your decisions and actions with these newly defined values, ensuring that the life you rebuild is not just a reaction to the past, but a conscious creation that honors your true self. Whether it's pursuing long-forgotten passions, setting new goals, or simply learning to enjoy your own company.</image:caption>

<image:title>Blog - New Beginnings: Breaking Relational Patterns and Setting Intentions for Healing - Setting a Word of Intention</image:title>
<image:caption>A powerful tool in this journey of transformation can be setting a word of intention for the year. This word should embody the shift or change you wish to manifest in your life. For instance, if you've struggled with self-neglect in relationships, your word might be “Balance”, "Empowerment" or "Boundaries." If you are having difficulty tapping into what this word is yourself, pause and give yourself 10 minutes to complete the New Year, Authentic You Intention Setting Guidebook and Meditation. This practice will help you gain clarity on what you need and find a word that will be a constant reminder of your commitment to breaking old cycles and embracing a new way of being.</image:caption>

<image:title>Monica Freissle-Lewis, Psy.D. - Hi, I’m Dr. Monica! I empower adults just like you: Ones who have it within them to stop simply surviving and start thriving, but just need the right support to get there.</image:title>
<image:caption>I help my clients find empowerment, clarity and relief by equipping them with the tools they need to reconnect with their authentic selves and better understand how unresolved traumas from their past are showing back up in their present relationships. Many clients with relational trauma often feel overlooked and misunderstood, leading so many to feel lost in their therapy journeys and wondering if there is anyone out there that can truly understand their pain and help them heal. I know that your circumstances are unique, so together we will uncover and blend your innate strengths with the skills, experience and knowledge I offer to help you achieve deep healing and find a renewed sense of calm, choice and connection within your life. First, we’ll dive into your past and examine the childhood relationships and experiences that are causing the emotional distress that you’re experiencing today. Then, we’ll identify the negative narratives that you’ve adopted so that we can reshape them in a way that will be most transformative for you. Through our work together, you’ll be equipped with all of the tools and skills you need to audit the relationships in your life and build an inner circle that leaves you feeling fulfilled, confident and excited about your future.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Monica Freissle-Lewis, Psy.D. - I am dedicated to helping you grow</image:title>
<image:caption>With my years of experience in helping people overcome relational trauma, I’ve cultivated the understanding and expertise you deserve to guide your growth along this journey. But, at the end of the day, you want to know that you’re working with someone who gets what it means to struggle with feeling disconnected, unfulfilled and confused as they walk through life, right? I understand because I have devoted my career to walking alongside individuals as they work to overcome the challenging childhood relationships and experiences that are continuing to show up in their adult lives. I know that sometimes it can be overwhelming to think about digging up the past. So when we work together, you won’t just get a trained psychologist. You’ll get a seasoned guide that can safely help you revisit your past, rediscover who you authentically are and, ultimately, help you reshape the way you connect with yourself and others.</image:caption>

<image:title>Relational Trauma Therapy - Let’s create the space you need to:</image:title>
<image:caption>Grieve your past deeply, process it, and gain clarity. Understand your attachment style. Heal the relationship with yourself as a foundation for building more meaningful connections with others. Establish inner safety to fully experience your emotions while equipping yourself with tools for self-soothing and managing them. Approach yourself with kindness and compassion, reshaping the way you view and treat yourself. Embrace healthy boundaries and learn assertive communication. Stay present and mindful, navigating life with increased awareness. Allow yourself to experience transformative healing. <image:title>Relationship Therapy - Empowered Self, Renewed Connections</image:title>
<image:caption>Relationships can either be the source of deep fulfillment or deep disconnection. There is a part of you that knows deep down that your relationship has the capacity to be loving and fulfilling, but at the same time, it’s been so long since you’ve seen that side of it, which leaves you feeling confused. All you want, deep down, is to feel understood, loved and fully seen by your partner. You just want to be enough. We will work together to explore the patterns that have led you to where you are, and consider what a fulfilling and connected relationship would look like for you. Through our work together, I aim to empower you with the knowledge and tools to help make meaningful changes to redefine your relationship, soothe your own emotional experience and deeply connect with your partner. With that, relationship therapy for individuals is focused on acknowledging and nurturing you as you navigate a challenging relationship, while empowering you to find the clarity you’re searching for.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Monique Issa, RMHC-I - Hi, I’m monique! I help adults find inner peace:</image:title>
<image:caption>My clients come to me feeling exhausted from constantly feeling on edge, overwhelmed by persistent negative thoughts and emotions, and disconnected from themselves and those around them. They long for greater presence and authentic connection but feel held back by self-doubt and anxiety, often finding themselves stuck in familiar patterns. I believe that every client has the power to overcome past traumas and find joy again; you just need the right support and guidance along your journey. I guide my clients to gain a deeper understanding of their own stories by guiding them in processing and exploring unresolved past traumas and their lasting impacts. By creating space for introspection and vulnerability, you can strengthen your self-awareness and self-acceptance. From there, we will work together to create change and develop a new narrative that supports the calmness, peace, and fulfillment you deserve in your daily life. My approach is holistic and integrative in nature, allowing me to tailor the therapeutic experience to honor your unique story, emotions, and personal needs. Through our work together, you will gain the insight, tools, and support you need to grow into the most grounded and authentic version of yourself.</image:caption>
